Oh my goodness, the voting on this was close! Paris was ahead by a landslide and then Rome crawled it’s way back for a respectable finish. And amazingly enough, while many of you professed indecision, everyone was able to pick a side. Kudos to all of you for getting past the indecision! Here are the results:
Total votes: 18
Paris: 10 votes; 56%
Rome: 8 votes; 44%
Both: 0 votes; 0%
So, hard vote. I was leaning toward Paris because I know and LOVE Paris. Ah, my mouth waters just thinking about the crepes there . . . or the paninis. Yummmm . . . . But then I read Beth’s post yesterday on Of Muses and Meringues. She has the touch people. Her pictures alone got me, but then she started talking about the legends. Gah! I never can resist a good legend. My vote went to Rome.
Though I may be on the losing side in the vote, I’m totally on the winning side because I leave for Paris in less than two weeks. TWO WEEKS!!! It won’t be Rome. But that’s okay, because it’s PARIS!
So on to the next vote. And THIS is an important one:
***And don’t forget! The Brawl ‘n Haul Contest starts this Monday (March 28). Vicki and I will duke it out with daily blogging competitions and you vote for the winners. OOO I hope you enjoy Paris!!!
Black ink. No contest. i hate blue
Okay, I obviously missed something.
I've been to Paris. Not my favorite place. In the summer, it's not the city of love. It's the city of stench. You have to pay to use the public washrooms. Street people don't have money. You do the math.
When my husband and I were in Paris on our honeymoon, we were in the train station, waiting for the train to southern Germany. A homeless woman sat near us and started talking to her bag and trying to feed it sugar. The smell was bad. Really bad. We eventually realized she had a dead animal in there!!!!!
Fortunately the amazing cheese and sites might made up for the other less than pleasant features of the city.
Enjoy your trip, Janet! 😀
I've never been to either place, but they both seem so intriguing. Being that you're so familiar with French, it seems like you'll really connect well to Paris. Have an amazing journey.
Now, the all-important question. I use to prefer black, but I have switched to the other side lately. So my vote: Blue!
Have a lovely time in Paris. Lucky!
Shelley
Hope you have a great time in Paris.
I'm going with Black ink, although I will use Blue from time to time.
Wow…Paris! I know you can write french, but will you be practicing your spoken french while there? I have a million other questions, and hope you will write about your adventures and take lots of pictures!
Black ink!
Enjoy Paris!
Thanks for the link and the shout-out, Janet! I had forgotten about this contest. (In fact, I'm not even sure which city I voted for!) I actually blogged a bit about Paris last September and I'll email you the blog links. You will love Paris too!
Black.
Have fun in Paris! I didn't get to see as much of the city as I would have liked because I went there as a teenager, but I loved it. My parents didn't like it for the reason Stina mentioned.
I use purple ink but when I have only a choice of black or blue, it's always black. Blue reminds me of school lol.
And you won my contest. Congrats!
Lucky Lucky! Have fun : )
I like color, so I would have to say Blue!!!
Paris, Rome… doesn't matter which one wins, I'd take it! Adore Paris, heading back to Rome in June. European summer, woo!
Black ink without any hesitation!
I can't wait for The Brawl 'n Haul Contest…It looks like loads of fun!
I'm an English teacher, so I'm going to have to add a category and vote for a red pen. Actually, I don't use red pens; I've heard they are bad for morale. I say black!
Just look at your own blog posts- and mine, and a zillion others. The body is in black. The titles and links are most often in blue. Black is the substance; blue are for frills! Blackety black has my vote!
I like a nice, flowy blue ink pen. I had a few really nice ones in high school … ahh.
