Reader’s Digest-esque Humor

One of my favorite bathroom reads is the Reader’s Digest “humor” sections. I have even submitted one or two in my time (*sigh* not published though). So today, wishing to offer up a good laugh, I present for your reading pleasure my own humorous short:
After asking my boys to clean up their room for the um-teenth time, I told them I’d help if they hurried. Of course, I found myself cleaning up on my own.
Well, I’d had enough! Hands on hips, and stern look on face, I declared, “I am NOT the clean-up fairy!”
My boys weren’t even phased. My oldest just glared back. “Then why are we the clean-up boys?”

LOL. My old 11 yo tells me he's not my slave. Yep, but apparently I'm his. 😛
Well I give you lots of credit, at least you're finding the humor in the situation and laughing as you clean?

The picture really makes the story. LOL. I can't tell you how many tidying battles I've had with Hobbit Girl. Holy smokes. But then again, I was a total slob kid and became a neat freak in college. Perhaps it's just a phase.

My son has now reached the age where, when the thought occurs to him, he takes things from the already clean section of the room and brings them to me as I'm trying to deal with everything else. My wife, who actually does most of the cleaning, finds this somewhat funnier than I do. Anyhow, what can you expect from a 15 month old?

Oooh, I think we have a new nickname for you. The clean-up fairy. I like it.
As an advocate for children and people who still act like them, I'd just like to point out that he has a valid point.
