Christmas Tradition

Growing up, one of our Christmas traditions was to take cinnamon twists to all our friends and neighbors. My mom’s were the best, and we all loved helping dip them in butter and cinnamon sugar . . . and of course EATING them. 🙂
I have continued that tradition, and my kids love it! (In fact, I have dough rising in the kitchen as I type.)
So, I have never written a book that takes place at Christmas time, but for those of you who have, did you give your MC any fun traditions to look forward to? And for those of you who haven’t (like me), what is your favorite holiday tradition?

Yummy! I have a lot of holiday traditions. My mother's side of the family is Finnish, and I've always embraced those roots. Even now, I make a traditional Finnish dinner (which takes place Christmas eve), and make some of my favorite foods and treats for the holiday season. 😀

My mom makes homemade pierogies for Christmas Eve–it's a Polish tradition that I look forward to. 🙂
Those do look delicious. I think I'll try to make some this year! Traditions are non-existant this year because my kids went away to south with their dad and step-mom. I really miss them (and tradition of seeing the Christmas lights on Christmas eve).

We like taking a ride through a local park decorated with over 200,000 lights in its annual Christmas display. Very festive times 🙂

No Christmas-time scenes yet. And traditions? We always read the Christmas story and then someone wore the Santa hat to hand out presents. I don't think we had very many traditions beyond that!
Unless you include the cat knocking over the tree. That was definitely a tradition. Maybe that's why my mom sort of got lazy about putting up a tree at all. 🙂

Awesome– we are trying to make our own here since my parents are deceased and my hubby's family is not in town.
Those cinnamon twists look and sound yummy! I bet those would be a big hit the next time I do Hospitality at church. Now I need to find a recipe for them.
